WINDHAM GARDEN CLUB

MINUTES OF REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING

November 16, 2006

  1. WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS

    The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm at the Windham Town Hall by President Jill Martin.

    The Officers present were

    President Jill Martin

    1st Vice-Pres Josie Cappiello

    2nd Vice-Pres Rhonda Peckham

    Treasurer Jean Manthorne

    Secretary Su Bennett

    There were no new members or guests at this meeting.

  3. EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORTS

    1st VICE PRESIDENT:

    - Victor brought some bittersweet + has some more in his garden, if anyone wants some-contact him

    -it will, however, stain the rug/tablecloth and is poisonous, so beware

    - Extra hand-outs from the October meeting were available

    - January meeting will be

    - a presentation from the Horticulture Committee on new plants for 2007

    - Ray will give a tour of his garden + the pond he built

    - Please, if you have any ideas or requests for programs for next year, let Josie know

    2ND VICE PRESIDENT:

    TREASURER: Financial Statements posted

    SECRETARY: Prior meeting Minutes posted on the website + on the bulletin board

    PRESIDENT:

    - Jill received a letter form a man offering samples of compost, if interested, contact Jill

    - Linda G attended the NHFGC Advisory Board Meeting at which she presented the gardening book we wrote, Planting Among the Stones, our Community Grant Fund, our 2 $2k scholarships – this generated much interest in how we are able to accomplish all of this!

    - Innisbrook Wrapping paper generated $700 in sales of which WGC makes $350 – great job, Cheryl

    - Need folks for the Scrapbook Committee, in addition to Sam + Tracy

    - Art in Bloom- Jill will submit the application- Denise has volunteered

    - New England Flower Show- Jill will submit the application- Vicki has volunteered

    - Jr Garden Club- flyers are going out to the schools

    - need a minimum of 4 members from kindergarten on up

    - Kathryn, Jill’s daughter, has agreed to run it and already has some ideas for projects

  4. REFRESHMENTS and BREAK

  5. PROGRAM – HOLIDAY SWAG

Thank you, Shirlee + Josie, for your may hours of prep work from those of us who went home with a beautiful new holiday decoration!!
