WINDHAM GARDEN CLUB

MINUTES OF REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING

November 17, 2005

  1. WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS

    The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm at the Windham Town Hall by President Jill Martin.

    The Officers present were

    President Jill Martin

    1st Vice-Pres Josie Cappiello

    2nd Vice-Pres Rhonda Peckham

    Treasurer Jean Manthorne

    Secretary Su Bennett

    The following people were welcomed:

    - guest Sherry Frisone and her daughter, Sara

  2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
  3. EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORTS

    1st VICE PRESIDENT: no comments

    2ND VICE PRESIDENT: The WGC Yearbooks are fresh off the press and were distributed to members.

    TREASURER: no comments

    SECRETARY: October WGC Meeting minutes are posted on the bulletin board and on the website

    PRESIDENT:

    Annual Meeting of NHFGC will be May 17, 2006 at Brookstone Event Center, Derry, NH

    Our District will be the sponsor and our Club is responsible for the centerpieces.

    The theme is High Tea and the centerpieces will be won by a lucky person seated at each table.

    Volunteers are needed to create approximately 15 centerpieces.

    We now have 7 members who have volunteered

     

  4. OPEN TO THE FLOOR

    HORTICULTURE COMMITTEE – Shirlee Dallas

    Reminded Committee members about the committee presentation at the January WGC Meeting on

    "New Varieties of Old Favorites". Need to get your research to Shirlee by the end of the year so she

    can compile it to review at the January Horticulture meeting in preparation for the Jan WGC meeting.

    WRAPPING PAPER SALE – Cheryl Wainwright

    The WGC makes about 50% on the wrapping paper sale - this year we made about $500 – great job!

    PLANT SALE – DIG UPDATE – Lisa Errede

    Fall digs are complete; will discuss Spring digs at the March/April meeting

    SHARING TABLE

    There are plenty of magazines, catalogs, and useful info – take some home with you !

Long + Low Centerpiece – Eileen Frigon

As always, former member Eileen, was very entertaining and educational.

Many beautiful arrangements were created and will certainly be enjoyed during the holiday season.
