WINDHAM GARDEN CLUB MINUTES OF REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING MARCH 16 , 2006 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm at the Windham Town Hall by President Jill Martin. The Officers present were President Jill Martin 1st Vice-Pres Josie Cappiello 2nd Vice-Pres Rhonda Peckham Treasurer Jean Manthorne Secretary Su Bennett There were no new members and this meeting was open to the public. 1st VICE PRESIDENT: 2ND VICE PRESIDENT: TREASURER: SECRETARY: Prior Meeting Minutes posted on the website + on the bulletin board PRESIDENT: Flower shows + demonstrations were posted on the bulletin board NHFGC ANNUAL MEETING – TEA FOR TWO – Wed, May 17 – Su Bennett - Centerpiece Committee – passed out additional info to committee- Encourage any member of WGC to attend this great event HORTICULTURE COMMITTEE – Shirlee Dallas + Cookie Santerre - "Fill, Spill + Thrill" container workshop – Sun, June 4 at 2pm – open to all membersPLANT SALE – MAY 20 – Shirlee Dallas- Sign-up Sheets for Plants that need to be dug, help for potting bare roots, etc + Day of Sale - Can pay Shirlee to grow a tray for the WGC member required contribution to the Plant Sale PRE-SALE BUY OPPORTUNITY – Shirlee Dallas - Many beautiful annual + perennials can be purchased through Shirlee before the Plant Sale
RAFFLE – Linda German - " As sure as the buzzards return to Hinkley, Ohio, the WGC Raffle will return to Windham" - Many great prizes this year – a basket of perennials, hand-made bird feeder, + much more - Members will receive their tickets "snail mail"- please sell + return the $$$ at the April 20th meeting - If you need more, call Linda - First Prize- "Bountiful Basket of Garden Products" – please give donations to Su Bennett POT RECYCLE – - Sat, June 10 8 am to 2 pm at the Transfer Station – sign-up sheet at this meetingDAFFODIL DAYS – Joanne Ago Sign-up sheets for:

SHARING TABLE – PLEASE TAKE HOME THE CATALOGS + MAGAZINES !! – Cookie Santerre INFO TO SHARE – Heard that the trees that had been knocked down in the hurricane were being turned into mulch and sold in bags at cheap prices, but the consumer needs to beware they might contain termites. BUT, termites don’t like our cold weather, so they probably wouldn’t survive, per another member.
