WINDHAM GARDEN CLUB MINUTES OF REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING February 19, 2009
I. WELCOME AND INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm at the Windham Town Hall by President Jill Martin The Officers present were President Jill Martin 1st Vice-Pres Denise Sarnie - Programs 2nd Vice-Pres Julia Salafia - Yearbook + Website Rhonda Peckham - Membership Secretary Su Bennett
The Officer excused was Jean Manthorne, Treasurer
Credentials- Members in attendance: 18 Total membership: 46 or 39 %

PRESIDENT: - Scrapbook – meetings every Tue evening at Sam’s – lots to do + can use anyone’s help - Book is due to NHFGC by the end of March - Memberships will be renewed at the May meeting this year instead of the Summer Solstice Potluck
IV. OPEN TO THE FLOOR
STANDING COMMITTEES:
PLANT SALE COMMITTEE – - Start thinking about any plants that need to be dug from your garden and have list for next meeting
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE – Linda German for Grace Marad - Scholarship forms will be printed + distributed to all the usual schools - For graduating seniors and mid-life career changers interested in studying Life Sciences - Info and application also available on the WGC Website - Linda visited Grace who is doing well + recovering from triple by-pass surgery
SPECIAL COMMITTEES/EVENTS:
DAFFODIL DAYS - - Week of March 16 – more info to come
FIELD TRIPS - - any suggestions or requests ?
NEW ENGLAND FLOWER SHOW - - Mass Horticultural Society will not be holding the large annual Flower Show this year - Instead there will be “Blooms!” in Boston, March 13-15 - there will be displays in 3 lobbies in the financial district plus many other events - please check www.masshort.org for more info

V. BREAK and REFRESHMENTS - HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE THIS MONTH’S THEME – Spring is coming! A beautiful Spider Plant was complimented by a springy yellow floral tablecloth Many thanks to Rhonda Peckham, Pam Friend and Robin Heider for the wonderful treats
